Bio


Arun Narayanan (pronounced "uh-roon nuh-rye-nen") is a screenwriter and video editor based in Los Angeles. He is represented by Joel Millner at the Larchmont Literary Agency.

In 2015, Arun was named one of the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP)'s Emerging Storytellers for his screenplay THE INVISIBLE BOY, which Darren Stein (JAWBREAKER) is currently attached to direct. His pilot script THE ADVENTURES OF ASH AND OWEN was the original comedy winner in CineStory’s TV/Digital competition and a finalist for three major screenwriting honors: the Showtime Tony Cox Screenplay Contest at the Nantucket Film Festival, the Final Draft Big Break Contest and the Page International Screenwriting Awards. Arun's first produced feature-length script THE TIME CAPSULE will premiere on the PixL network in 2018.

As an editor, Arun has worked on independent feature films, short form branded content, music videos, short documentaries, and corporate videos, for companies including Disney and Sephora.

In addition to editing and writing, Arun currently works in research & development for the Disney/ABC Television Group, and produces and stars in the award-winning web series ARUN CONSIDERS.

About

Arun has produced a number of short films, many of which are available to view on this site and Vimeo, as well as TAKING STOCK, a feature-length documentary set in South Africa, now available on iTunes, Amazon and Vimeo.

He also directed a handful of shorts, including CELLULOID DREAMS, which aired in PBS's "Shorts Showcase" program in 2013 and 2014, and FALSE WITNESS, which began airing on ShortsTV in 2016.

Arun has a MFA in Film & TV Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and a BA in Economics and Film from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Before moving to Los Angeles, Arun worked as a Customer Development Manager for PepsiCo in New York.
